Save LA Vintage

Had a wonderful time shoot for Save La Vintage in Manhattan Beach.  This was about 2pm in cloudy sunlight.

At the end of the day, we decided to try some fun action shots.

BA MOTO (T-Shirt Shoot)

Did a quick shoot for the guys at BA Moto this week.  Used a 15 degree grid camera right and an umbrella as fill camera left for the red t-shirt.  Black hoodie used an umbrella camera left to light more of the background and had to use an umbrella up high camera left to get the hoodie to show up.

Tres-Noir Product Shoot

Played around with a new way to shoot sunglasses today.  I find myself battling lens reflections and have to spend way too much time in PS cleaning up.  I had worked it out in my head the last few days, but got frustrated and defeated when I tried it using 9' wide background paper.  I made a quick trip to Tuttle Camera on Atlantic in Long Beach and picked up a 4' wide roll.  I was relieved that worked much easier with narrower paper.  It actually turned out better than I thought.  Here are a few unedited images and you can see the reflections are minimal.  No more livingroom windows or tv!

Shot with Canon 50D, 24-70mm L lens, two Alien Bees, unbrellas and a bounce.  Next time, I'll try a third light from directly above.
